As a member of NEA, you are part of a network of services that provides buying power that no one else has. These benefits come from having 17 million members. There are services for car rentals, car buying programs, appliances and electronics, and great deals on restaurants, paying pennies on the dollar. Members have also received grants from partner companies! Check out the picture on this page of Sarah Dumais who received a grant from California Casualty for $1000! She was able to buy lots of equipment for West spring sports.
Congratulations to Karyn Burgess at Hillside who won The Global Learning Fellowship from NEA!! It prepares educators to integrate global competence into daily instruction. The program consists of a series of webinars, a conference in Washington, D.C, and a 9-Day international field study. She was accepted to the program out of 450 applicants in the US. The program has a max of 50 spots. The Webinars start in September of 2017 and they all have to do with global competence and becoming a global citizen. In July of 2018, she will go to South Africa for the field study where she will learn about the South African School system and policies as well as culture and history. All of this is funded through the NEA and Education First.
